Installation & Operation Tips

• With the system set to backwash, pour the cleaner directly into the filter housing and continue backwashing until the discharge water runs completely clear.
• For filters up to 24 inches in diameter, combine one quart of Filter Cleaner with five gallons of water. For filters measuring 30 to 36 inches in diameter, use two quarts mixed with five gallons of water.
• Backwash the pool before starting. Pour the pre-mixed solution into the filter and add enough water to fully submerge the media. Secure the filter lid and allow it to soak for four to twelve hours. Pools with high mineral content, scale, or oil accumulation should soak overnight. Once soaking is complete, backwash until the water runs clear, then start the pump and fill the filter with fresh water.
• For cartridge filters, remove the cartridges and rinse them with clean water. Submerge the cartridges in a plastic container filled with a solution of one quart of Filter Cleaner per ten gallons of clean water. Allow a minimum four-hour soak. After soaking, rinse thoroughly with clean water and reinstall the cartridges. Overnight soaking will not harm the cartridges.
