- Part Number: R-0009-C
Installation & Operation Tips
- Collect 5 mL of pool or spa water in the Taylor test tube.
- Introduce 1 drop of Taylor R-0009 into the water sample.
- Gently swirl the test tube to blend the solution thoroughly.
- Check for a color change. If the solution stays green, add one more drop of Taylor R-0009 and repeat the observation until the color transitions to a clear red or pink.
- Record the total number of drops required to achieve the color shift.
- Multiply your drop count by 10 to calculate total alkalinity in parts per million (ppm).
- Collect 5 mL of pool or spa water in the Taylor test tube.
- Introduce 2 drops of Taylor R-0009 into the water sample.
- Gently swirl the test tube to blend the solution thoroughly.
- Dispense Taylor DPD Free Chlorine Titrant (R-0006) one drop at a time until the solution shifts from pink to clear.
- Record the total number of drops needed to reach the color transition.
- Multiply your drop count by 2 to determine free chlorine concentration in ppm.
- Collect 5 mL of pool or spa water in the Taylor test tube.
- Introduce 2 drops of Taylor R-0009 into the water sample.
- Gently swirl the test tube to blend the solution thoroughly.
- Add one Taylor DPD Powder Packet (R-0004) to the solution.
- Swirl the test tube gently until the powder fully dissolves.
- Dispense Taylor DPD Combined Chlorine Titrant (R-0005) one drop at a time until the solution shifts from pink to clear.
- Record the total number of drops needed to reach the color transition.
- Multiply your drop count by 2 to determine combined chlorine concentration in ppm.
