Installation & Operation Tips

• Slide the spring end of the mechanical seal onto the impeller shaft, making sure the black/carbon face points outward.
• Reattach the seal plate to the motor using four (4) lock washers and four (4) nuts.
• Position the white ceramic face outward, then press the seal into the seal plate using your thumbs. Wipe the ceramic surface clean with a lint-free cloth. Do not apply lubricant to the seal faces.
• Thread the impeller onto the motor shaft by hand until snug.
• Insert the impeller reverse lock screw and turn counter-clockwise to tighten it into place.
• Reattach the rear plastic cover on the back of the motor housing.
• Reinstall the diffuser onto the seal plate, verifying that the plastic alignment pins and holding screw inserts line up correctly (refer to the TOP indicator marking).
• Join the motor subassembly to the pump housing. Leave all nuts and washers finger-tight until all four (4) motor bolts are seated. Then, using a torque wrench, tighten each nut to 100 in-lbs (maximum). Avoid over-torquing.
• Fill the pump housing with water before startup.
